7th Grade Life Science

Objective: By the end of class, I will be able to define dichotomous key.

Plan:

- Students learn about classification from slides 12-17 on the PowerPoint about binomial nomenclature.

- Students play 20 questions with animals in order to demonstrate how a dichotomous key works.

Due in class: Alien proof of practice from the day before

6th Grade Earth Science

Objective: By the end of class, I will be able to describe the position of Earth in the solar system.

Plan:

- Teacher leads direct teaching from slides 1-18 in the Planets powerpoint.

- Students discuss the likelihood of their being aliens

- Students complete a gallery walk to identify the location of the planets

Due in class: NA (students work on notes page that they keep)
