7th Grade Life Science

TURN IN YOUR FIELD TRIP FORMS!!!!!!!!

Objective: By the end of class, I will be able to distinguish between camouflage and mimicry.

Warm up question (note - always answer in a complete sentence OR write the question and answer):

Provide an example of camouflage (use Socrative to answer).

Provide an example of mimicry (use Socrative to answer).

Plan:

- Teacher leads direct teaching on mimicry (slides 40-43 - see unit resources).

- Students get online and complete questions on Socrative, based on the topics and on the article from yesterday (1st hour needs the article).

- If time allows, students will get into preassigned groups to create a card game or board game based on evolution, natural selection, coevolution, camouflage, and/or mimicry.

Due in class: Socrative answers

Homework: NA (unless you have zeros for proof of practice - then complete one or more from the unit resources and turn them in)

Absent: Read through the Plan and complete what you can, as well as the Homework

6th Grade Earth Science

Objective: By the end of class, I will be able to define at least three vocab terms for how the Earth moves and how the Earth is divided.

Warm up question (note - always answer in a complete sentence OR write the question and answer):

Define rotation.

Define revolution.

Plan:

- Pass out the Seasons notes (see unit resources)

- Teacher leads direct teaching on slides 1-8 from the Seasons PowerPoint while students take notes.

- Students practice their vocabulary with a speed game in which they write the terms on white boards when the teacher says the definition.

- Students read about TRAPPIST-1

Due in class: NA

Homework: NA (unless you have zeros for proof of practice - then complete one or more assignments from the unit resources and turn them in)

Absent: Read slides 1-8 about Seasons and complete that part of the notes page (you will not complete it all). Study the vocabulary and research TRAPPIST-1.
