Objective: By the end of class, I will be able to explain how organisms use camouflage for survival.

Define adaptation.
Define fitness.
Plan:
- Teacher leads direct teaching on adaptation, fitness, camouflage, and mimicry.
- As a class, discuss examples of camouflage and mimicry.
- Students annotate the article "The Garden of Our Neglect" (see unit resources).

Absent: Research the terms adaptation, fitness, camouflage, and mimicry.

Objective: By the end of class, I will be able to label the types of tides.

Define spring tide.
Define neap tide.
Plan:
- Teacher leads direct teaching on the types of tides, as well as why the times of high and low tides change day-to-day (in the Tides PowerPoint).
- Students complete QR code challenge.
- Students complete the Tides Summarizer (see unit resources).
Due in class: Tides Summarizer
Homework: NA
Absent: Look at the Tides PowerPoint (slides 28-41) to finish learning about tides. Complete the questions on the QR code challenge and check your work (do not turn in to me).
