Objective: By the end of class, I will be able to model natural selection with a simulation.
Warm up question (note - always answer in a complete sentence OR write the question and answer):
Write a quiz question with 5 answer choices based on what you know about cladograms or natural selection.
Plan:
- Review the Fossil Find activity from Friday
- Review the term "geographic speciation"
- Students do the Natural Selection Simulation (due in class)
Due in class: Natural Selection Simulation questions & the Writing Assignment (see unit resources)
Homework: Writing assignment (if not turned in today)
Absent: Read through the Plan and complete what you can, as well as the Homework

6th Grade Earth Science
Objective: By the end of class, I will be able to accurately describe what causes high and low tides.
Warm up question (note - always answer in a complete sentence OR write the question and answer):
Write a quiz question with 5 answer choices based on what you know about eclipses.
Plan:
- Hand out the notes on tides
- Teacher leads direct teaching on slides 1-13 from the tides PowerPoint
- Students work on finishing their posters from Friday
- Students who complete their posters work on a QR code scavenger hunt (see unit resources)
