7th Grade Life Science

Objective: By the end of class, I will be able to list three types of evidence for evolution.

Warm up question (note - always answer in a complete sentence OR write the question and answer):

How can DNA provide evidence for evolution?

Students have work that need to be passed back, as well.

Plan:

- Direct teaching from slides 31-43 in Theory of Evolution PowerPoint (see Objective for link to resources)

- Watch the Amoeba Sisters video or the Common Ancestry video (see Objective for link to resources)

- Read about and discuss news about cryopreservation

- Students complete the "Evidence of Evolution Formative Assessment" assignment - EXIT ticket (not a proof of practice!)

Due in class: Evidence of Evolution Formative Assessment (exit ticket)

Homework: Complete any Proof of Practice Assignments

Absent: Read through the Plan and complete what you can, as well as the Homework

6th Grade Earth Science

Objective: By the end of class, I will demonstrate what I have learned about weather, air masses, and climate.

Warm up question (note - always answer in a complete sentence OR write the question and answer):

Get ready for the test.

Turn in your proof of practice work if you haven't already.

Plan:

- Students take a test

- Students complete a quick personality survey

- If there's time, start the next unit by watching the video

Due in class: Test

Homework: NA

Absent: Read through the Plan and complete what you can, as well as the Homework
