7th Grade Life Science

Objective: By the end of class, I will be able to define and create a pedigree.

Warm up question (note - always answer in a complete sentence OR write the question and answer):

What do you think pedigree means? Tape your answers to the white board.

Plan:

- Teach from the Pedigree part of the PowerPoint

- Watch the Pedigree video

- Students complete the exercise "What Causes People to Be Blue?"

Due in class: Nothing = although there is work that can be used for your proof of practice portfolio!

Homework: Nothing = although there is work that can be used for your proof of practice portfolio!

Absent: Read through the Plan, look at what you can do that was Due in class, and do the Homework

6th Grade Earth Science

Objective: By the end of class, I will be able to list three factors that influence weather (< go here for this topic's resources).

Warm up question (note - always answer in a complete sentence OR write the question and answer):

Describe your "perfect" weather day.

Plan:

- Discuss the "perfect" day; what factors are involved?

- Take and grade quiz

- Teach from the first 10 slides (or so) of the PPT

- Watch the three videos; one on climate systems and two on the greenhouse effect

- Brainstorm the factors that influence weather

- Complete the PPT

- Describe how the factors influence the "perfect" day

Due in class: Quiz

Homework: Nothing

Absent: Read through the Plan and complete what you can and do the Homework
