Objective: By the end of class, I will be able to describe the purpose of DNA.

Warm up question (note - always answer in a complete sentence OR write the question and answer):

List some of the physical traits you share with your parents.

Plan:

- As a class, go through some of the animals on this site to distinguish between sexual and asexual reproduction.

- Students review everything the know about DNA.

- Take notes based on the PowerPoint.

- Complete the Trait Inventory Activity.

Due in class: Trait Inventory Activity

Homework: None

Absent: Take notes from the PowerPoint on traits & Trait Inventory Activity

6th Grade Earth Science

Objective: By the end of class, I will be able to describe the cause of waves.

Warm up question (note - always answer in a complete sentence OR write the question and answer):

"Waves and currents are the same." True or false. Defend your answer.

Plan:

- Review warm up

- Students work in groups to decide the cause of waves.

- One student from each group writes their answer on the board.

- Take notes from the PowerPoint.

- Complete first page of waves worksheet. Write the definition as if you're explaining it to someone who cannot see.

- Students grade each other's definitions.

- Create waves
