7th Grade Life Science
Objective: By the end of class, I will be able to define asexual reproduction.
Warm up question (notes - always write in a complete sentence OR write the question and answer):
"Humans need asexual reproduction to survive." True or false? Make your argument.
Plan:
- Students get into two groups, True or False, based on their warm up answers. - Discuss warm up answers as a class. - Pass out PowerPoint notes. - On the back of the notes, have students create a list: "Everything I Know about Asexual Reproduction" - Students get into small groups and compare their notes - One person from each group shares one fact from the list - Teacher provides direct teaching from PowerPoint - Watch the video at the end.
Due in class: nothing
Homework: none
Absent: Print the notes page and take notes about asexual reproduction (first part of the PowerPoint)

Objective: By the end of class, I will be able to describe the location and composition of Earth's oceans.
Warm up question (note - always write in a complete sentence OR write the question and answer):
List everything you can find in the ocean.
Plan:
- Pass out student notes.
- Teacher leads direct learning from entire PowerPoint about the location of oceans and structures in oceans.
- Students play Kahoot in groups
- Students work in pairs/threes (at least one needs a phone that can scan QR codes) to complete a gallery walk using these QR codes.
Due in class: nothing
Homework: none
Absent: Print the notes page and take notes about the oceans on earth (in PowerPoint)
