7th Grade Life Science
"Explain that cells take in nutrients in order to grow and divide and to make needed materials."
We completed the yeast lab and discussed which bags showed growth and which ones did not. Additionally, we watched an Amoeba Sisters video (or at least started it) about cellular respiration and fermentation.
Reminder: TEST FRIDAY - If you did NOT turn in test questions, please complete them here.
Homework: Complete this form to submit your lab report. The reports I got back today were not nearly what I was hoping for, so we are going to submit them online instead. DUE MONDAY, 12/5.
Absent? Research how yeast makes bread rise and complete the homework form with the information you learned (for observations, write facts you learned.
6th Grade Earth Science
"Recognize that lithospheric plates constantly move and cause major geological events on the earth's surface."
We continued our powerpoint on the types of plate movements and then continued working as a class to make earthquake-proof houses. The goal is to complete the project by Friday, 12/2.
Homework: Do research on what makes a home earthquake-proof. Bring ideas to class for the project.
Absent? Communicate with other classmates about how you can assist with the project, such as doing research on earthquake-proof houses or bringing materials for tomorrow.
