7th Grade Life Science

"Explain that cells take in nutrients in order to grow and divide and to make needed materials."

We discussed the upcoming test, planned out the lab for Tuesday and Wednesday, and covered a little bit of information on biochemistry.

Homework: None

Absent? Read through the Prezi on biochemistry (also linked above). Look through the Unit 3 Outline.

6th Grade Earth Science

"Recognize that lithospheric plates constantly move and cause major geological events on the earth’s surface."

We reviewed the information covered in the unit so far, planned out the week and started a lab on creating an earthquake-proof building, and read the Journey to the Center of the Earth stories aloud (voluntary).

Homework: Research what makes buildings "earthquake-proof". See the introduction in the Design Catalog for Reconstruction of Earthquake Resistant Houses.

Absent? Look through the Unit 3 Outline. BRING MATERIALS FOR EARTHQUAKE-PROOF HOUSE!
